April 22, celebrated as Earth Day with the theme -ECOSPARK – Vidyanjali Green Initiative Program.The program inspire all to rejoice and cherish the beautiful planet and to awaken people on how they can be an asset in saving the Earth from pollution, global warming, water scarcity and other several concerns. ECOSPARK – The Vidyanjali Green Initiative Program, an endeavour that reflects our collective commitment to sustainability, innovation and responsible citizenship. Through this initiative, the young bagrodins contributed positively in safeguarding and protecting the planet by instilling the belief that each one of them can become ‘Guardian of the Globe’.
The chief guests for the event were Dr Manisha Taneja, State Nodal Officer, Vidyanjali ( Ministry of Education) and Veergatha (Ministry of Defence), Shri Ganesh Prasad DDE Zone -21 Directorate of Education, Ms Uma CRCC (Cluster Resource Centre Coordinator, Vidyanjali) , Mr Narendra Kushik and Mr Surendra Singh, DURCC(District Urban Resource Cluster Coordinator). The celebrations were witnessed by the students of Sankalp Sahodya school ( Sachdeva Global), Twinning school of Vidyanjali (Qutub Vihar for Boys)and parents of participants.The program began with a mesmerising prayer that taught the gathering and lit the spark of green consciousness among us all.It was followed by a soulful musical performance, a dance performance portraying the beautiful balance between nurturing Mother Earth and nurturing young minds, an Enactment by students through street play for preserving Earth.All this further enhanced the understanding of this special day.
“Vidyanjali Green Vibes” – a PowerPoint journey into our outreach at MCD School, Qutub Vihar, where young minds from both schools joined hands for Earth, followed by a thoughtful discussion, while touching upon terms like tree plantation, reminded learn to make significant contributions as conscious citizens.
Eight talented students from MCD school, who poured their creativity into the Poster Making Competition held on April 11th, were felicitated with gift hampers.
A pledge to preserve this precious planet and captivating discussions on ways to reduce the emission of carbon dioxide invoked the much-needed integrity and earnestness to this burning issue amongst the audience.
At last, the plantation drive was headed outdoors to perform an act of gratitude towards our planet by planting trees that will stand as symbols of our commitment to a greener tomorrow.
‘A little effort will go a long way on everyone’s end’ should be the guiding principle for each one of us to save, preserve, worship and care for our Planet- Earth.
